Purpose: It's not a Buzzword, It’s a Calling

In today’s world, the word "purpose" is tossed around a lot. You see it in books, podcasts, Instagram captions, and Facebook post ETC. . But let’s pause for a second and go deeper because purpose is more than a trendy word. For the woman of faith, it’s a divine assignment. It’s a holy calling that whispers to your spirit even when life feels messy, uncertain, or stuck in transition.

What Is Purpose, Really?

Purpose is the reason you were created. It’s the unique imprint of God’s design on your life. Ephesians 2:10 tells us, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” That means before you were ever formed in your mother’s womb, God had already written out your story from beginning to end and it’s one filled with meaning, impact, and legacy.

But here's the truth: purpose isn’t always loud. It doesn't always show up with flashing lights or grand applause. Sometimes, it’s hidden in the quiet obedience of showing up daily. Sometimes it looks like healing from the very thing that hurt you, loving those around you well, or using your testimony to pull another sister out of the pit.

Purpose Requires Surrender

I mean come on, let’s be real: walking in purpose isn’t always easy. It calls for surrender, letting go of what you thought life would look like and trusting that God has greater planned for your life. It requires us to exchange comfort for calling, and fear for faith. But when you say yes to God’s will, you start living beyond the surface level things. You wake up every morning with intention. You move with clarity. You speak with authority.

Purpose Is Personal

Sis, your purpose doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. In fact it won't! God is not in the business of copy-paste callings. Whether you're raising a family, building a business, writing a book, leading a ministry, or simply healing from your past—your path is powerful. And guess what? Purpose evolves. The assignment may shift in different seasons, but the God who called you never changes.

You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out

Some women delay walking in purpose because they’re waiting to have it all figured out. But God often reveals the next step, not the entire blueprint. So start where you are. Use what’s in your hands. Say yes to the little things, and watch God unfold the bigger picture. Your obedience in the now prepares you for what’s next.

Final Encouragement

If you’re in a season of waiting, wandering, or wondering, know this: you are not behind. You are not forgotten. You are not disqualified. God is still writing your story, and your purpose is still unfolding. Keep seeking, keep healing, keep trusting. The world needs what’s inside of you.

You were created on purpose, for a purpose.
